This class is designed to answer your questions about the basics of breastfeeding. You will learn the most up-to-date, evidence-based information regarding lactation and have fun along the way! Rachel provides a relaxed, interactive and engaging environment. Each class is designed to boost your confidence and help prepare you for your infant feeding journey.

About the Instructor:

Rachel is a Registered Dietitian and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with a Master’s in Public Health. For 10 years, she has provided nutrition and lactation services and specializes in Maternal and Child Health. She has served in a variety of settings offering maternal and pediatric nutrition counseling, lactation consulting, education and support services. She has also provided professional training and presentations and has spoken locally and nationally for many groups and organizations on a variety of topics addressing adult and pediatric nutrition, lactation, and disparities in health.

About Queen City Cocoa B.E.A.N.S.:

Queen City Cocoa B.E.A.N.S. serves to build a supportive, informed and empowered communityfor families in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Significant racial/ethnic health disparities exist especially with breastfeeding and this group strives to close the gap and help create health equity among all people. Women of color and their families are encouraged to embrace good nutrition and breastfeeding as a cultural and social norm through Breastfeeding Education, Advocacy, Normalcy and Support (B.E.A.N.S.) The group operates solely through donations and volunteers; it offers support groups and a variety of other events and services in Charlotte and surrounding areas.

Cost: $25.00 (or $30 with $5 donation to Queen City Cocoa B.E.A.N.S.)
Partners are encouraged to attend for no additional fee
