Perinatal Movement Workshop: Part I

There’s a lot of questions and misunderstandings when it comes to specific exercise during pregnancy and motherhood. What’s the best type? Are there modifications every woman needs to make? How do you heal postpartum?

Colleen Flaherty of Prokreate is teaching this 2-part workshop for birth and postpartum workers, yoga instructors, personal trainers, chiropractors, massage therapists, and anyone who works directly with pregnant and postpartum women.

Part I will cover Pregnancy:

  • Pregnancy specific movement, modifications, and substitutions
  • The Core Canister: breath/diaphragm/pelvic floor

  • Training for reduced injuries and optimal birth (fetal positioning, lower interventions)

  • Breath, stability, posture for safe, everyday movements

Part II will cover Postpartum:

  • Postpartum trunk rehabilitation progression

  • Breathing, stability, posture optimization in mom life
